Pahadi Gutti Khal (Apricot Scrub)
One ingredient: hand-pounded apricot kernel meal.
A soap-free, hand-pounded apricot meal powder for face and body, enriched with the apricot kernel oil left behind after cold pressing. It exfoliates dead cells while moisturising, which is unusual for a scrub.
The apricots are grown in the hills of Kumaon. After the kernels are cold pressed for oil, the meal that remains is hand-pounded into a fine powder. Because some of the kernel oil stays in it, the powder is soft and gentle enough to use on the face without hesitation.
It has a high vitamin E content and is rich in antioxidants. The earthy aroma is the oil, and it is what gives the whole thing a spa-like feel.
