Jojoba (pronounced ho-ho-bah) oil is teachnically not an oil, its a liquid wax. Jojoba oil was developed as an environment friendly alternative to sperm whale oil. Result was a product superior to sperm whale oil.
Jojoba grows in harsh desert conditions, where most plants do not survive because of heat and dryness. This happenes because the wax seals the plants in such a way that minimises water evaporation during hot daytime and isulates during chilly night-times. This 'wax' of jojoba plant has exceptional ability to control water loss, which is the primary cause of ageing. A plant so strong that doesn't shed its leaves with changing seasons.
Jojoba wax ester is almost identical to the esters present in out sebum, hence has high affinity will all skin types. Jojoba creates a light non-greasy film on skin that attracts moisture and allows skin to breathe. It is also one of very few ingredients that can penetrate hair shaft and moisturise each strand. And since it is wax, it resists oxidation and rancidity, so naturally has a long shelf life.
If no oils suit you, chances are, Jojoba will.
